Forget everything that you know about circuses. Cirque du Soleil is like nothing you’ve seen before, unless you’ve seen a unicorn.
There’s no giant tent, no animals, no nonsense. Rather, it’s stuff made out of dreams, a spectacle created out of your wildest fantasies, and a pure display of human perfection.
Stepping into the Dralion arena was submitting your soul to the world of ultimate wonderment. When the lights dim, you’re immediately transported to an oriental wonderland that even Alice herself would not have been able to imagine.
First, the whimsical clowns take your mind by its hand and lead you away from all reality. They set the stage for what’s to come – endless surprises, wide-eyed awe and limitless possibilities. And once you’ve forgotten about where you are, the show begins.
A thunderous, yet soothing voice bathes your senses in a bottomless pool of dreams. The melody and power grips your heart with every tune, you find your body uncontrollably swaying to the enchanting music. And oh, check your arm, goosebumps.
And there, descending gracefully from the heavens, our silk aerialists twirl and swirl within your mindscape, almost leaving trails of glitter as they flow through the air, smooth as silk.
Before you can even catch your breath to take in the astounding beauty, the live music picks up its tempo and jolts you into another state of consciousness. The gravity-defying trampolinists bounce into your head and scale the walls of your emotions. They narrowly miss one another as they somersault across the stage in perfect harmony. It’s a dance to celebrate the human form, and a victory trance to mark the triumph of mankind over physics.
Then, leaping through a tiny hoop right in front of your eyes, a skilled acrobat lands 3 feet away from your seat and gives a polite bow. More acrobats, more hoops, more insanity. The excitement is difficult to bear. You’re holding your breath, constantly assaulted by the creative exhibition of breaking the limits of what the human body is capable of.
The performance ends with a bang and leaves you sitting motionless in your seat, still unsure of what kind of sorcery you’ve just witnessed, and still unwilling to come back to reality.
And there it is, the Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion. Every one in the cast is beyond world class. They’re out of this world. We can only wonder and envy how these performers manage to perfect their craft, and their art. They turn every back flip into a full parade, every leap a spectacle, and every show, a dream.
The countless hours of training and rehearsals, combined with relentless dedication to perfection, just to bring to us this unforgettable journey into a world without limits.
You’re not just watching a performance, you’re witnessing the full capabilities of a person’s body, heart and soul. Calling it entertainment would be a blasphemy. It’s a life-changing event. It inspires every person in the audience to strive for that same level of dedication and obsession. Because only then, we will understand how much the human spirit can achieve.
